Program Assistant

A.J. (they/them/elle) is a Central American, non-binary Program Assistant here at The Alliance. A member of the Program Team, A.J. provides support in the form of event planning, operations, and youth leadership development. A.J. has been with the Alliance since September 2023.

A.J. believes that mental health and community building is fundamental to the well-being of the LGBTQ community. By providing these resources to our youth, the community can ensure a thriving future where everyone can live their truth freely.  

A.J. has a considerable background in community building, having served 2 years in the AmeriCorps VISTA program, working with Miami Dade College to run a work-study program that matches student interns with non-profit organizations throughout Miami-Dade County. This program, called the Civic Leadership Fellows, helped foster a relationship between Miami Dade College and over 20 community partners. .        

A.J. is currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Business Marketing and holds an Associate’s degree in Film and Television Production.  

P.S. A.J. is the proud parent of the cutest little leopard gecko in the world, who is also a great escape artist.
