Alex La Rosa, MSW, Registered Clinical Social Work Intern (He/Him/His)
Clinician

Alex La Rosa (He/Him/His) is a Cuban/Puerto Rican who was born and raised in Miami and serves as a Clinician here at The Alliance. He is dedicated to creating safe, welcoming spaces where youth of all identities can explore who they are, break down barriers, and move forward in their journeys. Alex provides individual, family, and group counseling, meeting young people with compassion, tools, and guidance as they navigate challenges. He joined The Alliance in 2025.

Alex believes in meeting youth where they are and honoring their pace. He sees the young person as the driver, with himself as a co-pilot—helping them navigate while recognizing the influence of culture, identity, and the systems around them. For Alex, the first step is simply showing up; from there, growth begins to take shape as the youth engages in the work. He believes every young person already carries their voice within them; it’s just a matter of remembering, reclaiming, and using it.

Alex brings years of experience working with children, adolescents, and families within the child welfare system. He has advocated for youth and families to ensure their needs are heard and their voices amplified. Beyond child welfare, Alex has worked with adults in eating disorder treatment, leading groups focused on confidence, boundaries, and resilience. His clinical approach combines advocacy, empowerment, and a profound respect for each person’s unique lived experience.

Alex earned his Master’s in Social Work from Florida International University.

P.S. Alex’s soul animal is a monkey. If you can’t find him, he’s probably climbing, exploring, or stirring up a little bit of mischief. If there’s any kind of physical activity involved, you can count him in.
