Amber Manker, LCSW (she/her)
Clinical Manager

Amber is a Queer Black Clinical Manager here at The Alliance who collaborates with members of the clinical team and community agencies to ensure LGBTQ Youth are receiving affirming and client-centered services throughout Miami-Dade county. Amber has been with The Alliance since 2018.

She believes by providing affirming spaces and care, LGBTQ youth are empowered to thrive and hone their own personal power as they navigate and conquer adolescence. Amber believes it is important to honor the experiences and challenges LGBTQ youth may experience by examining the ways in which systems, community resources, and mental health facilities impact their personhood. She values the importance of working with fresh mental health clinicians and student interns to sharpen their clinical knowledge as they enter the field of community work.

Amber has been awarded the FIU School of Social Work’s BSSW Field Instructor of the Year for 2020-2021. Amber has committed to working with children, adolescents, and families for the last 7 years in multiple facets. She is trained in Cognitive Behavior Therapy, Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavior Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, and Gottman Method Couples Therapy.

She holds a Master of Social Work (MSW) degree from Barry University.

P.S. Amber loves dancing and cooking dishes from all over the world!
