Azul Alma (They/Them)
Care Coordinator

Azul Alma (they/them) is a queer, transgender and non-binary, African American, Mexican American, Jamaican and Canadian care coordinator here at The Alliance. They hope to empower the next generation of LGBTQ+ youth by helping break down barriers to healthcare and creating more pathways to finding support and community here in Miami.

They have been with The Alliance since 2024. Azul knows that advocating for the rights of LGBTQ+ youth is crucial in continuing the fight against anti-LGBTQ legislation. By caring for young people, they believe The Alliance is preparing the next generation of activists to advocate for issues they’ll be right at the heart of.

Azul is a trained Care Coordinator who has had years of experience mentoring young people of color in newsrooms and local non-profits across the country. They are also a writer and editor for PRISM – creating LGBTQ-inclusive education and sexual health resources for young people in Florida.

Azul holds a degree in Professional Writing from Metro State University.
