Cris Sotomayor (they/them/elle)
Program Manager
Cris Sotomayor (they/them/elle) is a Nonbinary Boricua and the Program Manager here at The Alliance who works to create accessible programs and support systems for LGBTQ+ youth. They have been with The Alliance since 2024.
With a background as a program manager, case manager, speaker, organizer, and educator, they have worked to support communities and individuals that have been intentionally underserved and excluded. Drawing from both personal and professional experience, Cris has seen firsthand the resilience of Queer communities and the urgent need for spaces created by and for them. Their work has centered on creating these spaces for community building and healing grounded in radical compassion and accountability.
Prior to joining The Alliance, Cris served as the Senior Program Manager at San Diego Pride, overseeing 7 year-round programs with a special focus on QTBIPOC Coalition building and Transitional-Aged Youth. In addition to their experience in youth housing, case management, and community organizing, Cris is a restorative justice practitioner and educator with expertise in curriculum design and facilitation. Cris holds a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology from Liberty University.
P.S. Cris finds joy in spending time with loved ones, a good book, or out in nature. They embrace practices like meditation, yoga, and Espiritismo as part of their own journey toward healing.
