Jo is a 19-year-old college sophomore in Homestead. As a White lesbian female, Jo believes her experience as a queer person will allow her to contribute meaningfully to discussions on representation and rights, while also ensuring that the voices of marginalized groups within the LGBTQ+ community are heard. As a Leader, Jo is committed to engaging in active listening, guiding and inspiring others, and providing as much support as possible to her peers. Through this program, she hopes to continue building on her confidence, a skill she is actively working on.   

As a ChangeMakers Leader, Jo is excited to form meaningful connections with other queer youth who share her passions for social justice. She looks forward to learning from their experiences, gaining new perspectives, and collaborating to create positive change. Jo’s areas of focus include reproductive rights and environmental justice.
