ChangeMakers Leader

Lucia is a 13-year-old eighth grade student in Wynwood. She is extremely dedicated to social justice, progress and change. After marching alongside last year's ChangeMakers cohort at the annual Miami Beach Pride Parade, Lucia chose to step into her power and successfully applied to be a ChangeMakers Leader for 2023. Lucia hopes to bring the impactful ideas she embodies in her day-to-day life informed by her experience as a transgender, Latina teenager. As a ChangeMakers Leader, Lucia is excited to build upon her skills as an activist. Knowing that our experiences of oppression are all linked, she is eager to meet allies in the fight against social discrimination. Lucia’s areas of focus include addressing discrimination faced by trans people and the LGBTQ+ community.
