Nadya is a 17-year-old MDCPS high school senior in Downtown Miami. She is passionate about theatre and is a trailblazer - being the first trans woman cast in a lead role at her visual and performing arts high school. Nadya hopes to bring representation to the movement for social justice, drawing from her experiences and perspectives as a Cuban-Arab trans woman to lead and amplify the voices and presence of brown trans girls and women in media. As a ChangeMakers Leader, Nadya is excited to gain a deeper sense of community and to have the opportunity to make others feel seen and heard. She is an advocate for self-determination and committed to be a part of society’s path to trans acceptance. Her areas of focus include representation and ensuring the voices of young queer folks are being heard.
