Neriah (she/her)
ChangeMakers Leader
Neriah is a 17-year-old high school junior in Miramar. As a Black neurodivergent Haitian woman, Neriah hopes to create a prosperous environment where people can collaborate. Her awareness of her cultural differences allows her to remain attentive and focused while seeing different perspectives, which she finds necessary for understanding nuanced conversations. She knows her personality will create a strain in relation to her race and that she’ll face racial obstacles when it comes to acceptance in the community; to represent herself means to implement change and progress around her. As a ChangeMakers Leader, Neriah’s main goal is to allow herself to be brave. She is excited to expand her creativity to help create and inspire change and hopes to learn to be cooperative while learning with other people. Neriah’s areas of focus include accessibility to healthcare for the disabled community. She believes that for a society to be functional it needs to be community-based, where all members of the population are equally considered and included.
