ChangeMakers Leader

Vess is a 15-year-old high school sophomore in Homestead. As a Black demi-sexual, demi-romantic, demiboy flux, Vess is aware that many parts of his identity have been wronged and believes justice for the oppressed is worth fighting for. Vess considers themselves a capable leader because he is easy to work with, open to learning new things, and is very outspoken. As a ChangeMakers Leader, Vess is excited to learn more about people like him and connect with people who share the same experiences as him. Vess’s areas of focus include the connectedness between mental health and queerness and addressing queerness in POC communities where queerness is often culturally seen as shameful or embarrassing. They would also like to expand knowledge and understanding of queerness to ignorant people who are genuinely open to learning.
